Tip of the day: Conceal properly
Applying concealer heavily can end up looking, well, bad. Try using a small concealer brush and dab lightly under eyes. If you don’t have a brush, use your ring finger (this goes with applying eye cream as well) because it would give you a much more delicate touch. Concentrate on the inner corners, where you’re most likely to have most discoloration, and blend outwards. For a smooth application, be sure to moisturize your under eye area with an eye cream like Exuberance’s Ultimate Perfection Eye Beauty Cream. Make sure to use less than you would at night to avoid a too slick surface. After you apply concealer, set with a mineral powder and ta da! You’re done!

Rough elbows. Scratchy, dry, icky! Here’s how to free your elbows of rough skin! Cut a lemon in half and coat with brown sugar. Before you shower (and you might want to do this over the tub to avoid mess!) grind both of your elbows with the lemon; add more brown sugar as needed. Lookin lovely, lemon fresh!

Here’s a great smoothie recipe to up your berry intake (great antioxidants AND delicious) and to get some good, healthy stuff that you might be missing in your daily diet. Take about 2 cups of frozen berries (my favourites are blueberries, raspberries and blackberries) and dump those bad boys into a blender along with half a banana, sliced for easier blending. Add two tablespoons of flax seed (cold pressed is best) and two to three tablespoons of 100% ground hemp protein (amazing protein action, but be aware that the more you add the more grainy your smoothing will be, so don’t go crazy). Drop in one tablespoon of acai berry powder. Add one to two cups of orange juice depending on your sweet tooth and one to two cups of water (liquid should just cover all the berries). Now blend! Now I introduce you to your new best friend… seriously addictive and fantastic for after a workout. Enjoy!
Super Fantastic Vegan Smoothie Recipe:
2 cups of frozen berries
½ banana
2 tablespoons of cold pressed flax seed
2-3 tablespoons of hemp protein powder
1 tablespoon of acai berry powder
1-2 cups of orange juice
1-2 cups of water

So it’s summer and with summer comes sun, fun, skirts, patios and flyaways. Here’s a trick to calm those pesky hairs that won’t stay put without making your hair oily or flat: Take a couple of drops of jojoba oil (you can find this at your local health food store) and rub your pa…lms together. Lightly run your palms over your hair, concentrating on the ends or any other spots that are particularly frizzy or split-endy. Et voila! You’ve got all natural frizz reduction!

If you are having trouble with dandruff, try this: add a few drops of eucalyptus or tea tree oil to your shampoo bottle. A little (2-3 drops in a 6ml bottle) goes a long way and should help your scalp!

It’s cold, it’s hot, it dry, it’s humid… With all these weather changes, how is a girl (or boy) supposed to keep her (or his) skin in tip top shape? Sometimes forgoing the body lotion seems like a great idea in the summer; you might think you no longer need it. Wrong! Skin still needs some help in the hydration department, especially when the weather is flip flopping all over the place! In order to avoid scaly skin when you go to wear those short shorts, be sure to moisturize properly. Always moisturize 3-5 minutes after you get out of the shower. No if ands or buts! This is prime moisturizing time and you’ll get the best results if you abide by this rule. Also, massage your body lotion in slowly in circular motions, just like you would on your face. This helps with circulation and blood flow for glowing beautiful skin. And might we add, chemical-free sunscreen please! But we didn’t have to tell you that right? Have a fantastic weekend!

We’ve talked about them before, but here we are again! It’s summer, it’s time for some guacamole! Avocadoes contain cholesterol-lowering and heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. These fats enhance the absorption of the antioxidants in foods that they are paired with. So, in your guac, add some tomatoes since they’re rich in lycopene, an antioxidant that is known to help reduce cancer risk and cardiovascular diseases. Not to mention that guacamole is delicious, so do we really need to keep making excuses to eat it? That’s what I thought. Enjoy!

Three steps to beautifully moisturized skin!

1. Always apply moisturizer to freshly washed skin within three minutes of washing to seal in the moisture that is already there.
2. Massage lotion or cream into face for 15-20 seconds to increase circulation and to be sure that your moisturizer is fully absorbed into your skin.
3. Find your balance. Make sure to use enough moisturizer so that your skin is well hydrated, but make sure not to over do it. Quantity will change from skin type and product and potency of the product. Exuberance skin care is highly potent with active plant ingredients, often just a touch will suffice!
Now, moisturize away!

Have you been out in the sun unprotected? First, stop that! Second… damage control. As soon as you realize you’ve had a little too much sun, reach for the aloe. Aloe has anti-inflammatory properties that will help you recover from over sunning your skin. If you find yourself lacking in the aloe department, reach for your Exuberance! Exuberance products are made with aloe juice, rather than water, which makes a much more potent product and can help you rejuvenate your toasted skin! Now, reapply that sunscreen and have fun!
